Hawkers Market Comes to Calgary

Last weekend was the inaugural Calgary event for Hawkers Market, the event started in Vancouver and is slowly expanding. I first heard of the market and decided that I wanted to attend after reading about it from one of my Edmonton food blogger friends.

Luckily I didn't have to drive to Edmonton as the market was coming to Calgary!

The first Calgary event was held at Studio 122 which I feel is a good venue for the event has it is keeping with the culture and vibe they want to portray. However it was extremely packed! It was hard to get up and order food. Also there was no one taking tickets so potentially you could just show up and get in. We had regular tickets and VIP tickets but there is apparently no difference. The food was good but I found the selection and serving size small for what you paid.

It was a fun evening, definitely something different and I look forward to seeing what happens as the event expands in the Calgary market.
