Weekend Recap

What a freezing weekend! I always seem to forget that March isn't really spring in Alberta and it's still going to be cold and snowy. This weekend was definitely chilly I think most of the city just decided to hibernate. With wind chill warnings there really wasn't anything to be done outside so most of my weekend was spent indoors to quickly running from my car to the nearest building with heat.

We celebrated our puppy's one-year anniversary in our home. We officially adopted this little monster a year ago on Friday and he's totally taken over our homes and our lives. He also sleeps like a person, how adorable. Here's my comparison picture:

I received the latest issue of Eating Well Friday night so I spent some time flipping through it and picking out recipes that I thought looked tasty, easy, and that MAYBE the man friend would also enjoy. Over the weekend I made these oatmeal muffin things (pictured below), bread pudding muffins, and I prepped cabbage rolls for dinner tonight which better be tasty because it sure was a lot of work to make them!

I also went out for brunch on Sunday which involved many many layers and waiting for a long time for my car to warm up. So I used the waiting time to take some selfies. Here's my -40 brunch look the bonus is when a toque is involved you don't actually have to do your hair. Side note: I like that my hair actually sort of looks ombre here and it's inspired me to go make a hair appointment, something I do maybe twice a year.

Here's brunch it was so tasty: I met some girls I met through work and we enjoyed a Tapas style brunch at Ox and Angela on 17th Ave, I had never been there before but it came highly recommended it's a whole bunch of courses and they just keep coming! We were there for nearly two hours. So delish, there was so much food I couldn't even make a proper collage out of it.

Finally I wrapped up the weekend at home watching TV including Walking Dead (Snore fest this show has gotten so boring), GIRLS and some of the Oscars while I prepped food for the week. I also splurged and purchased a pair of custom made flats that I have been eyeing for over a year. Everyone says they are really comfortable and come pre-broken in so my intention is to bring them to Europe in April as a cuter version of the sneakers that I usually wear around.

If you're interested in Poppy Barley definitely check them out all their footwear is custom made to your measurements and it's high quality and totally adorable.

Have a wonderful, and warm week everyone!
