Valentines Treats & Pinterest Fails

I have been bitten by the Pinterest bug, much like every other girl I know. I pin clothes I can never afford, vacations I want to take, and I pin recipes. The only difference with the recipes board is that I actually make what I pin but unfortunately I find that more often then not the recipes don't really work out as planned. Poor man friend ends up sampling most of it and pretending to be kind when really he's wishing is was the garb-orator and not himself that was subjected to my latest Pinterest fail.

Side note: the Pinterest fail blogs are hilarious! Being able to laugh at yourself is a great quality and if you need a pick me up of any sort check one of them out.

So as usual I was pinning my little heart out and looking for themed posts for some Valentines themed recipes. I found two that I thought looked cute and I would give them a try. I was going to link up to them but when I checked my Pinterest boards it turns out I deleted the pins because well they weren't that great so I will share the pictures (which are pretty) and that's all for me and Valentines. Man friend and I are going to a friends house for the actual evening and I think pizza is the menu so it's safe to say romance is dead in my house.

At this point things were looking promising, the batter was a lovely festive color and things were going ok.

These look ok, they definitely don't look like the blog post I got them from, everyone I shared them with was nice enough to say they are good but I was disappointed. I personally think they look like little pink poops. Oops.

Finished plate with my little creations. To bad it's the taste that counts right. The red batter was turned into the squares which were supposed to be red velvet short bread or something. Man friend said "they're really dense" so not the best review. Ah well better luck next time.
