The Fault In Our Stars

If you did not know (for shame) I am a contributing writer at Gen Twenty a website curated, written and managed by women in their twenties for other women in their twenties.

This February they have started a book of the month club. Now I have considered joining a book club or a book/wine club in the past since I love reading but definitely don't read enough. Generally I pick up new books when I am going on vacation but not just for regular reading. I also prefer actual copies of books instead of ebooks so they do take up more room and cost a little more. But this seemed like the perfect time to start regularly committing to reading more and purchasing more books. Firstly since I write for the site I felt it appropriate to partake and secondly this is all online so I don't need to leave the comfort of my own home. Because once work is done and the pajamas are on I am not going anywhere no-sir-ee.

The first book is "The Fault in Our Stars" which will be turned into a movie later this year.

Me, curled up and ready to dive in

Now I am a fairly fast reader and I have finished the book so I don't want to give away anything but although I knew it would be sad before I started it this book is a real tear jerker. What a devastating story! Even so I would still recommend it. The book tackles hard issues and really tugs at your heart strings. It's also inspiring there's something about being a teenager with your life not yet started where everything can just be so optimistic (hard to say with the characters circumstances but still) optimistic in the way that you really believe you can make something of your life and leave a lasting impact. I found that aspect of the story motivational and inspiring.

Have you read "The Fault in Our Stars" did you like it? If you want to sign up for the Gen Twenty book of the month you can do so here: http://gentwenty.com/book-of-the-month/
