If my life was like my Pinterest account

I originally planned on doing a weekend re-cap since my life is oh so exciting. (NOT!) This weekend it finally warmed up, like way above zero, the air no longer hurts my face sort of warmed up and I think I spent over 5 hours at the dog park. I also went out and enjoyed a delicious three course meal at Oceana as part of #BIGTASTEYYC but I didn't take any pictures of the dog park or of my delicious meal, not even a selfie to prove that I got dressed up for the occasion.

Sunday was spent in a dark quiet haze as I tried to sleep off the epic migraine that happened due to the drastic temperature changes. I didn't know this before moving down here but apparently some of the population suffers from horrible headaches due to the Chinooks so although the warm weather is amazing! The quick change in air pressure sometimes turns me into an immobile whiny little person who can't see light, hear any sounds, or let anything touch her. Fun times.

So when I finally crawled out of my cave (bathroom floor) yesterday I was spending some time pinning my little heart out when I thought how much Pinterest is not an accurate representation of my life, even if I wish it was.

If my life was like Pinterest:

I would have a closet full of sparkles and dramatic dresses and reasons to wear them:
REALITY: I only dress up for work and immediately put sweats on as soon as I walk in the door.

All my meals would be healthy and beautiful like these:
REALITY: I usually eat a weird combination of snack foods and I love my some Five Guys like there's no tomorrow

I would vacation in beautiful places like these all the time:
REALITY: I am super blessed that I do get to travel frequently but I am definitely more budget than ballin

My home would be a gorgeous curated collection of the finest pieces and look like it was straight out of a magazine:
REALITY: My home is lovely and it works perfectly but times when I pin a light then look and see it's $650 for one and choke a little reminds me what's realistic

So maybe my life isn't Pinterest worthy but it never hurts to dream does it? Even if my wardrobe is never quite as sparkly and my food will always need at least one filter to look half as good.

Happy Monday!
