What if it doesn't go as planned?

I briefly debated doing a weekend re-cap as that seems to be a popular post idea in blog land however my weekend wasn't all that exciting. When Travel Babbles posted Ten Years Ago Today about how different her life was and how her current reality is so much different from what she originally planned - and that's OK I was inspired to post ramble on about the same topic.

I think everyone has grand plans and big dreams however when reality starts to set in and real life plays out things change. Not everything you planned when you were younger will happen. Maybe none of it will but that doesn't make your life any less amazing than what it would have been.

I probably was a bit to ambitious with my plans. I wanted to move to NYC, have a big fancy job travel the world and be well known. Well as of today none of these things have happened. I have not and probably will not move to NYC. I've visited a few times and absolutely love the city but that might be as close as I ever get. I don't have a big fancy job - but I do have a good job that many people would be more than happy to have and for that I should be grateful. I don't travel the world but my good job allows me to escape during my allotted vacation time each year and to bring loved ones with me and that's pretty fantastic. Am I important? Sure maybe to friends and family. But that's it. I don't think I inspire social media envy or have anyone look at my life and say I want that. But that's OK I have a great life and it's great in ways I didn't consider when I was younger. So thanks Travel Babbles for saying it's OK to look back, reminisce and then thank your lucky stars for where you are today! Oh and BTW..... I think your life is pretty amazing too and you inspired Social Media envy the first time I read your blog ;-)
